This type of operations corresponds to vessels of traditional fishing which dimensions and level of sophistication as well as volume of catches are not as high as the case of pelagic fishing. In this kind of vessels cargo is not palletized therefore productivity of offloading operations is not as higher as the case of pelagic operations. As a consequence of this, more stevedores are needed to perform this type of works since stowage tasks on board are necessary to discharge the cargo. On the other hand, these types of vessels are focused on species of high value in market such as squid, octopus and choco. Finally, traditional vessels do not have own technical means for offloading operations therefore shore means are needed during offloading operations.
PELAGIC OPERATIONS
These types of operations correspond to vessels of pelagic fishing such as sardine, mackerel or sardinella which value in markets is low. Nevertheless, due to the great volume of tons handled, this kind of fishing is very profitable. Pelagic vessels have a higher capacity and dimensions and their level of sophistication is very important. Cargo on board is palletized; therefore, productivity during the offloading operations is very high compared with traditional operations. The number of stevedores needed to perform the offloading is not as high as traditional operations since no stowage on board has to be carried out. On the other hand, these vessels are self-supporting, so no shore means are needed.
OPERATIONS FOR FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

OPERATIONS OF CARGO IN BULK
Loading and offloading (99% offloading) of cargo in bulk inside the Terminal located at Muelle Reina Sofia. This operation is performed with the logistical support of the 10.300 m2 (of which 2.500 m2 are covered) terminal which is equipped with a designed high capacity shore crane. The main cargo discharged is sand, gypsum…
OPERATIONS OF GENERAL CARGO
Loading and offloading (99% offloading) of all kind of cargos (iron, engines, paper rolls, wood, fertilizers, etc. These kinds of operations are supported by the terminal of cargo in bulk and their designed technical means.
